Wand Jet Check-Valve/Extenders accomplish 3 things:

They help stop annoying drip problems evident with v-jets that ordinarily don't have a mounted check valve to halt water flow after the main wand valve is closed. This is caused by remaining water in the line between the valve and jet; a check valve impedes this draining phenomenon that causes jets to drip.
The extension permits the jets to be closer to the carpet, offering a better flow and heat patterning, needed especially when glides are installed either on a scrub type wand or an RX-20.
They deliver better pressure to the carpet interface.

1/2" Jet Extenders are on all TMF Wands/TMF Stair Tools.
