Olefin fiber, commonly used in commercial carpet, has a very strong attraction for oily soils, necessitating the use of highly aggressive detergents and presprays like TLS 2000.
TLS 2000 PRESPRAY CARPET DEGREASER is an extremely strong super-concentrated liquid formulation containing grease emulsifiers and saponifiers, wetting agents, water softeners and grease-dissolving solvents:
The grease saponifiers in TLS 2000 are highly alkaline materials that chemically react with cooking grease to actually convert the insoluble grease and fats to soluble soaps. In this chemical reaction, called SAPONIFICATION, the fat molecules are actually split apart into soap and glycerin. This is essentially how soap has been manufactured for over 2000 years - a reaction of animal fat with high alkali to form soaps.
Wetting agents allow the ingredients in TLS 2000 to penetrate through massive layers of fat and grease for maximum chemical activity and speed.
The water softeners keep this soap from turning into soap curds that might leave a dulling sticky residue and prevent total removal of the grease.
The solvents dissolve the grease and soap and keep the resulting material liquefied for easy and complete pick up during wet extraction.
This unique combination of chemical ingredients in TLS 2000 results in a product that very significantly reduces chemical usage, time, effort and costs on those difficult grease-laden commercial carpets.

Because TLS 2000 Prespray has a very high pH, avoid contact with other surfaces such as glass, natural fibers such as sisal and wool, wood and hard surface flooring.
As with any high-pH detergent, use on printed carpet may result in dye bleed. If on print carpet, follow cleaning with a Brown Out® acid rinse.
Clean any mats that are used between the kitchen and the carpet to avoid resoiling and slipperiness.

How to Clean Grungy, Greasy, Filthy Commercial Carpet with Heavy-Duty TLS 2000 Heavy-Duty Traffic Lane Spotter:
Keep out of reach of children.
Read label directions and cautions before using.
Test for colorfastness.
Apply TLS 2000 Prespray 5-10 minutes before cleaning the carpet.
Dilute 10 parts of water to 1 part TLS 2000 (13 ounces per gallon) in a stainless steel sprayer OR preferably apply through an Injection Sprayer.
The Injection Sprayer is connected to your solution hose in place of the floor tool so that the solution coming through is hot. Keep the spray tip near the carpet surface to avoid getting a mist in the air that you might be breathing!
Under extreme soil conditions, may be diluted 5 parts water to 1 part TLS 2000.
Physical agitation with a carpet rake or a buffer with a bonnet or white pad may be required before extracting if soil is heavy, old and compacted.

How to Clean Greasy Restaurant Carpet
Bane-Clene’s service company services very few restaurants because they are low-profit, usually cleaned in the middle of the night, choose the lowest bidder, want to pay in 90 days at best and sometimes go out of business before paying!
Our service company does service a few high-end restaurants where cleanliness and appearance are extremely important and the restaurant is willing to pay for good work. Such a restaurant clearly understands that to keep a restaurant carpet looking and smelling good, it must be thoroughly cleaned at least monthly. Unfortunately, most restaurants are not like that.
Steps for cleaning severely soiled, greasy restaurant carpets, including Chinese restaurants:
First, remove any walk-off mats and any other mats for separate, more thorough scrubbing and cleaning.
Place any loose chairs, etc. on tables to get them out of the way.
Pick up all loose, large objects on the floor, such as utensils, napkins, french fries, etc.
THOROUGHLY vacuum the carpet.
Take note of any areas of heavy spills, where wickingmay be a problem, requiring extra attention, even the use of a Water Claw® Sub-Surface Spot Lifter.
Especially on the heavy traffic area near the cooking area, apply a high-pH prespraysuch as TLS® 2000 or a high-pH enzyme traffic lane spotter designed for greasy restaurants, such as Pro-Zyme. Be sure to apply enough to allow the pre-spray to work on the grease before it dries.
Thoroughly scrub the greasy carpet with buffer fitted with a mild shampoo brush or a white pad with drive block.
If you don’t have a rotary floor machine, use a stiff deck brush to thoroughly scrub in the traffic lane spotter.
If necessary, allow 30 minutes dwell time for the prespray enzymes to chemically attack the restaurant grease.
Re-scrub the carpet.
THOROUGHLY extract at as high a temperature as possible with a high-pH detergent such as PCA™ Formula 4 with Booster™.
Since you are creating soap through saponification as your high-pH alkaline detergent is attacking the cooking grease, you may need to add AFC™ Anti-Foam Concentrate Defoamer to your recovery tank or pre-apply Crystal Defoamer in severe cases.
Since this work is done in the middle of the night, you may finish shortly before the restaurant opens. To speed up the drying, you may need to use air movers to decrease the drying time.
Additionally, you may need to use dry cotton spin bonnets after cleaning to reduce the drying time and reduce wicking.
Another problem with restaurant carpets is a large number of spills that may wick back up after cleaning. Use dry bonnets after cleaning and apply ARA Anti-Resoiling Anti-Wicking Agent in spill areas and Stain Blotter on specific heavy spills.
Clean the mats and replace them. The restaurant may also use a separate rental service for them.
