Clear Dust

The first step is to clear out any dust or debris from the tiles, which makes the rest of the process far easier.

You can either use a broom to sweep out the dust or use a vacuum to clear it out.

Mix Solution

Next, you will mix your cleaning solution for the tiles. Combine three parts of warm water with one part of liquid soap in a large bowl or bucket. Our experience shows that this solution works best for a light clean.

Apply Solution and Clean

Dip a mop or cloth into the solution, and then wring it out to remove any excess liquid. Using the damp mop/cloth, wipe down the tiles to remove any dirt or stains from the surface.

You can go over the surface 2-3 times to ensure all marks have been removed.

Remove Dust and Debris

Use a broom or vacuum to get rid of any dust or debris from the surface of the tiles.

A broom works perfectly well to sweep up loose dirt, but if the tiles are outdoors or in an area where a lot of dust gathers, you may want to opt for a vacuum.

Combine Solution

In a small bowl, mix baking soda and cold water to form a paste consistency. You should slowly add in the water, one teaspoon at a time, until you get the right consistency.

Avoid using warm or hot water for this step, as it may dissolve the baking soda.

Apply Solution

Dip a cleaning brush into the solution (our Hand-Fit Horsehair Brush is one of the best products to clean ceramic tile floors), and then gently scrub the tiles to remove any stubborn dirt or stains and polish the surface.
